Last month, we were pleased to learn that our Spectrum Access System (SAS) and Environmental Sensing Capability (ESC) platform, CINQ XP, was selected as a finalist in this year’s Fierce Innovation Awards: Telecom Edition in the Spectrum Efficiency category. We are even more excited to announce that we won!
The Fierce Innovation Awards: Telecom Edition is a carrier-reviewed awards program from the publisher of FierceWireless, FierceTelecom and FierceCable. Finalists’ applications were reviewed by an exclusive panel of executives from major telecommunications companies, including Verizon, TeliaSonera, Comcast, Sprint and T-Mobile. All applications were evaluated based on the following criteria: effectiveness, ease of use/ ROI, true innovation and end-user impact.
The reason we won? The judges said, “This is enabling technology for an entirely new business model, making use of shared spectrum to reduce cost of communications. The use of sensors and propagation models represent innovations to improve performance well beyond any other system.”
We couldn’t agree more. Federated Wireless has been a leader in developing the regulations, standards development and ecosystem for this shared spectrum model that has the potential to revolutionize the wireless industry. At the same time, we’ve been working to perfect our technology and, while we are still developing and testing our technology, it is exciting to be recognized for that piece of the market as well.
